Alex just moved to Denver, Colorado and decided to step out of her comfort zone by entering the world of online dating. She immediately matched with Patrick and they visited one of the many local breweries for a beer. The rest is history. Alex grew up spending most family vacations on the shores of Lake Tahoe in the summer and on the slopes in the winter. Patrick and Alex spend a lot of their time in their home state backpacking, skiing and enjoying everything that comes with living in a mountain town so when it came to picking their Lake Tahoe wedding venue, it was a no brainer that they would exchange vows on top of a mountain in one of their favorite locations.

The Wedding Day

The bride and groom’s biggest priority for the weekend was to create an intimate weekend where they could celebrate their love with all of their friends and family. The whole weekend was full of group events that encouraged guests to get out and enjoy Tahoe from their rehearsal dinner at a local brewery paying homage to their first date to a morning-after beach day on Lake Tahoe. On the wedding day, guests started the day by riding the Quail Chair at Homewood Mountain Resort to the mountain-top ceremony site. Guests were then invited to West Shore Cafe & Inn where they enjoyed cocktails, dinner & dancing as the sunset on Lake Tahoe.

All the Details

It was important to the Bride and Groom to keep decor true to their setting and use elements to accent the beauty around them without going over the top. B & B Designs adorned the wood farm tables with lush hand-tied garland that was to die for and Cohen Creates created custom layered mountain table numbers that perfectly fit the theme. Their color palette was kept neutral but accented with pops of dusty blush and caramels to add some warmth which looked especially lovely with the bridesmaids’ Jenny Yoo Caspian Sea dresses.  The day truly represented Alex and Patrick as a couple and guests got to experience their life together first hand. They even got to include their sweet Goldendoodle in the day’s events.

At the end of the day, we always like to ask our clients, what is your favorite part?

For Patrick, it was watching Alex ride up to the ceremony on the chairlift (the Tahoe version of walking down the aisle). Alex enjoyed the ride back down on the chairlift, looking out at the amazing blue waters of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding peaks.  They had just said “I Do” and got to share a single perfect moment alone as they started their life together.
