So you are planning your Lake Tahoe wedding but not sure how to turn your wedding day into a full-on wedding weekend? We’ve got you covered with our list of our favorite Lake Tahoe wedding weekend activities. More & more we are seeing couples turn their wedding day into a full weekend of activities for their guests to experience everything Lake Tahoe has to offer. Not only does it give your attendees the opportunity to explore the beauty of this region but it sets the tone for the big day by allowing guests to build relationships prior to your wedding.

Tahoe Sailing Charters

Join Captain Tyler & his crew for an exciting sail on Lake Tahoe. There is really nothing quite like seeing the lake from a sailboat & Tahoe Sailing Charters makes the experience even more enjoyable with their top-notch hospitality. Your guests can reserve individual spots on an already scheduled time slot or charter the boat for a private sail with your guests. I highly recommend the sunset sail which comes complete with premium and local beer, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Prosecco and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. Plus, Lake Tahoe at sunset is stunning!

Fly Fishing

This area is known for its fly fishing so check it out if you get a chance. We suggest hiring our friend Blake as your guide (especially if you get a group together) as we have heard it is tricky to find the best spots in this area.

Floating the Truckee

If you’ve never floated the Truckee River you are SERIOUSLY missing out! This is a great activity for all ages & ability levels. Rent a raft from Truckee Rafting Company & take a relaxing float down this iconic river.

Hiking & Picnic

A variety of hiking trails in the area with stellar views & terrain that suits all ability levels make this suggestion a no brainer. Encourage your guests to pack a picnic lunch, sunscreen, water &  a jacket and get out in the great outdoors. Head over to AllTrails & pick the best trail for your group. Below are a few of our favorites:

Flume Trail

Mount Judah Loop

Picnic Rock

White Water Rafting

Looking for a little more of an adrenaline rush? The Truckee River hosts some serious rapids that are so fun to raft! We suggest reaching out to IRIE for the ultimate guides & trips in this area. You won’t be disappointed!

Beach Day

Want to just relax on the beach but still visit with all of your guests? Grab your towel, sunscreen & a cooler & head to your favorite local beach. Grab some games like bocce or corn hole to create a more interactive atmosphere for your guests. For Tahoe public beaches, visit the link below for a full guide around the Lake.

Pro Tip: Use a local paddleboard or kayak rental company to grab a few water toys for your guests to enjoy. We really love Tahoe Adventure Company!

The possibilities here are endless when it comes to enjoying the great outdoors in Lake Tahoe & these are just a few of our favorite activities that we have found to be a huge hit with guests traveling to this area. We are huge fans of taking “normal” Lake Tahoe activities & putting our own spin on them to make them unique to each couple. Think outside of the box! & if you decide that you need help planning your pre or post-wedding activity schedule, we offer that as an option for all of our packages so you simply don’t have to worry about it. Just reach out to us to schedule your consultation & for more information on our a la carte services. Tahoe is truly your oyster!
